  1. Excellent website. A good amount of helpful details below. Now i’m sending the item to several friends ans in addition sharing throughout yummy. Of course, thanks a lot on the sebaceous!

    1. Jill, when do you plan to start? We’re starting here on Jan 6th. We’ve got a little group doing it together. I may start a private Facebook group for support and to share recipes and stuff. 🙂

  2. I laughed at your line “I THINK I MIGHT BURST INTO CONFETTI.” Of course you know I ordered it. Just finished Focus T25 a couple of weeks ago. X3 is 7 days a week workout schedule unless you modify it to stretch it out.

    1. I never even noticed it’s a 7-day workout schedule. I may modify. I like my day off. I ordered it and received it, but I told Jon it is one of my Christmas presents to myself, so he’s wrapping it. I can’t open it until tomorrow. haha

  3. For some reason, the pull-up bar is always what holds me back…..do I have a disorder or something? I mean, people buy and install them in their doorways, don’t know why I have this hang-up?? (see what I did there? 😉 Seriously, what is the best place to purchase? And how much of the workout involves that equipment? I honestly think I go back to that awful gym class memory of the Presidential Fitness test where the teacher would let go and I would just FALL in front of everyone!

    1. “have this hang-up” I get it. Heh.

Regarding the pull-ups and the need for a bar: Yes, I have one. And yes, you need one.

We bought ours at Dick’s and it’s hanging in our master bathroom. Which is problematic, because I workout in the basement and the pull-up bar is on the main floor. We don’t have a door frame that works in the basement. I think it cost under $100. I honestly don’t remember, it’s been probably 5 years ago that we bought it. We mostly use it now to hang clothes on. True story.

For the P90X workouts, I use our universal weight machine which has a pull-down bar, and that works fine. The X2 and X3 workouts show you how you can use a resistance band to do them. There is a little contraption that you can hook up to a door and string it through (you can order it through Beachbody). Then you kneel down and pull on the band. This is nice, because you can switch out bands to change the resistance, and still work the same muscle group without ever leaving the ground.

Even if you do install an actual pull-up bar, P90X shows you how to modify the move if you can’t do a real pull-up (Even after finishing X2, when I was at my strongest, I could only do 2 full pull ups, leaving the ground.) You can either use a chair to rest one foot or you can purchase the Pull-up Assist, which is a contraption that hangs from your pull-up bar and you slip your foot into it and it helps support your weight. It’s adjustable.

So, please don’t let the pull-ups stop you. There are many options for this portion of the workout and Tony Horton is great about showing modifications so you don’t fall flat on your face.
