  1. I was worried there for a moment that I was starting to lose it when I'm at work, on a business call, having an employee say something to me in the other ear, while opening mail and checking out my emails…. and well, having to tell everyone to hold on a moment while I picked just one thing to do.

This evening I was sitting on the couch with Alberto who stayed home today with a fever. And wondered why I was always in such a hurry to get up and do dishes, fold laundry. Soon, he will grow up and these moments should be cherished, not rushed to do some "chore".

Affirmation of something that God is laying on my heart. Thank you for your continued faithfulness to the Lord.

  2. Thanks for this Sandy. Funny how we pride ourselves on the very thing that can be so destructive to our families and other relationships. I've learned how to keep a "pretty clean" house without having to feel pressured to have things immaculate all the time. I've learned how to turn the TV off and spend time with my daughter in the evenings or Saturday mornings – giving her undivided attention. I've learned how to get off the computer (facebook lol) and spend time with the Lord and just be quiet! All of these things are gifts from God and I thank you again for reminding me of them. Now get over to Ms. Irma's and get to bakin'! HAHA! Blessings to you!

  3. Great post Sandy…Now excuse my while I go take some ibuprofen…Something was stabbing me in the ribs while I read that…I'm not sure, but I think it was God, since I was trying to pay bills, fold clothes, and read this post all at once! 😛

  4. LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I so agree that busyness makes you unavailable to others and God. I am forever dropping whatever I am doing to spend time with my kids or my husband or a friend or a neighbor and am totally the crazy lady actually having conversations with the cashiers or the drive-thru folks because I feel like that connection is SO important.

It is one thing to show love and grace and God to your family; but reaching out to the world of unsaved or hurting all around you takes you out of your comfort zone, in a good way.

Luckily I have a sweet husband who is ok with the piles of laundry and dishes and dust bunnies. He always asked me who I loved on today, instead of "Why didn't you clean the house".
