  1. Oh Sandy, I just loved and related to this so much! As usual, you articulated everything in such a relatable manner. I have been trying to keep it all balanced for years, but in the last few months I’ve been more on the pendulum scale. (Except I’ve been calling it, “Eh, I’m older, tireder, busier, and some things have got to go!) Thanks for keeping it real 🙂

  2. I never thought of it like this, but I am totally a pendulum gal. If my day demands that I drop 3 balls, I drop them…and move on….no guilt (well….depending on the ball there is sometimes a little guilt….but I’m usually pretty good at saying Kelly, you just can’t today, let it go, you’ll get to it later). Where I struggle are the areas that are not really a priority to me, but I think that they should be….you know, all those ones from that list you made awhile back….all the things a good mom should be. They are not really that important to me….but I feel like they ought to be, so I try to fit them in, but usually drop them cause they are not really all that important to me.

I need to stop that. It’s pretty dumb.

    1. Hmmmm…probably should sit down with yourself and God and figure out what He wants to be a priority to you. Then just do that and quit worrying about all the other stuff. Know what I mean?

  3. Thanks Sandy, I totally agree. It’s much more encouraging to view my days as a pendulum. I think this will relieve some of the stress I feel at the days end when I’ve totally bombed my schedule! Great perspective!!

  4. I’m really not sure how i view balance in my life… Maybe i’m just totally UNbalanced!!! 🙂 I think this helps me see tho, that i am not alone in NOT being able to do it all, all the time. I think balance for me is a scale, but with lots of little pendulums on each side of said scale, if that makes any sense. I have ‘to-do’ lists everywhere all the time, and being able to cross things off makes me happy. 🙂 AND – if i don’t get to the to-do’s, i just re-write them to do next time. ha! THanks again for your insight!!
