  1. I bought Slim in Six a few years back, so I can speak to it. It’s actually a pretty good work-out for just getting back into it. The first one (I’ve never gotten beyond it, lol) is just shy of 30 min. Mainly squats, plies (uh, can’t spell that!), lunges – all with arm movements – to keep you moving. I was definitely sore last week after my first workout! The only thing I find a bit annoying is that there was clearly nobody counting reps when they taped. So one side totally gets more reps than the other. I compensate by doing the opposite leg/arm of the video every second time.

I’d like to get back on the 30 Day Shred, but can only find the DVD case. No DVD! DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE MY DVD IS???!!! She shouts to her five children…

  2. I have the slim in 6 dvd set with the resistance band and I think it’s perfect for a true beginner or someone (like me) who has been slacking off for over a year to ease back into working out daily. The moves are effective, but only require about medium coordination. I agree with the previous commenter that the reps aren’t always equal but that didn’t bother me as much as the music/beat and the moves not being in sync. I was a band nerd (marching!) all through grade school so the moves not being in sync with the beat of the music really throws me off. After the first week, when I had learned the moves I had to turn around and face the wall so I could move with the music instead of trying to move with the instructor. That aside though- the workouts are great and involve both strength training and light cardio.

  3. My kids and I have been doing a 30 day ab challenge that I found on facebook. It has situps, crunches, leg raises and plank, and it increases at a crazy speed. We made it to day 16 and I want to continue because me kids are actually interested in it, but not so extreme. What exercises do you suggest? My kids are 11, 9, 7, 5.
