  1. Ahahahaha! I share your many questions about the "integrity" of pole dancing. 😉

Apparently I am a trendy gal. Just this week I have participated in two of the kinda classes mentioned… I did Karate with my six-year-old (it's a kid-parent class, fun!) and a Cardio Salsa class. I am incredibly sore and it will only get worse tomorrow. But it's a good sore. Bring on next week! (And maybe some Advil…)

  2. LOL. You are so funny 🙂

I knew you would say something about the whole pole-dancing thing. You make me laugh.

I'm always so impressed with your fitness friday posts! They always get me geared up. Thanks friend 🙂

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Hugs and Love,
    Kate 🙂

  3. Welcome Back Fitness Friday Girl! We missed you over the holiday break.

I am very familiar with all trendy diets and gimicks. I've tried them all or at least researched them. I did do the cookie diet. And I did lose weight. That is true. HOwever, I could not continue eating cardboard tasting cookies (it's not like they were chips-a-hoy or oreos — they were expensive organic dry cookies that you needed to microwave and do a lot of brainswashing in order to convince yourself they were edible) for al ong time. So once I lost 15 lbs in a month…I stopped eating them. And well, I guess I gained some of the weight back but not all of it — as you know, still have some real weight to lose.

And I want to know too why we care what Kim Kardashian thinks or endorses? Who is she? I didn't know who she was until I stumbled on her show and still am in shock that they are still on. Reality TV turned bad scripted acting. But one thing I can say about Kim is that she does make me feel better about myself. After all this new Hollywood Glam Girl is not size 0 and her flawless skin is the result of enormous amounts of make up.

Now regarding the pole dancing. Yes, your children would be scarred for life if they watched you do that. I think I am scarred for life just thinking about it. I'm so uncoordinated that if I did a pole dancing class and it was video taped, I might win the grand prize for America's Funniest Home Videos. Now that's a thought…

But most importantly about the health of our nation. I was watching the Biggest Loser this week and it's the largest group they've ever had. And it was scary to see how unhealthy our diets are. These are regular people who have buried their emotions under hundreds of pounds of weight. I am sure that they would tell you that Taco Bell is not the way to go — unless you want to be a candidate on the Biggest Loser.

Our excessive eating is out of control. And frankly our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we (mostly me) are treating this temple quite irreverantly (mostly me). So, it's time to get with the program. I am carving out some time. I am making the effort now to walk every evening and making better food choices. And well, if I can get in a pole dancing class…I might do it (as long as someone is video taping it so we can win lots of money; otherwise, I'll stick to spinning or cardio salsa).

Welcome Back FFFG!! And Sorry for the long rant — you've been away and I've had pent up writing desire. 🙂

    Love ya!!!

  4. Ha! A Taco Bell diet?! And that whole cookie diet thing always made me laugh too?!! I like cookies and wouldn't want to eat them ALL day long! My bet is for McDonalds to have the next Jared spokesperson…

All that said, I'd opt for the pole dancing in the "privacy" of the gym as opposed to your basement! I'd rather a bunch of strangers see me dancing than my kiddos…that could certainly affect them for life! LOL.
