EP238 Is it Time for You to Hire Help?

Show notes:

In this episode of The Balanced MomCast, I discuss the importance of recognizing when it’s time to hire help and provide practical guidance for making that decision. I’ll share my personal experiences with hiring help, emphasizing that there is no shame in seeking assistance. I outline six key questions to consider when determining whether to hire help: budget considerations, zone of responsibility, delegation to family members, renegotiating the division of labor, prioritizing tasks, and assessing the impact on health and well-being.

Main Points:

  • There’s No Shame in Hiring Help: It’s okay to ask for help, and it doesn’t mean you’re incapable or irresponsible.
  • Six Questions to Consider:
    1. Is it in your budget?
    2. Is it in your zone of responsibility?
    3. Should you delegate it to your kids or hire your kids?
    4. Can you renegotiate the division of labor with your spouse?
    5. Is this task preventing you from doing something more important?
    6. Is your health suffering due to being overwhelmed?

Key Takeaways:

  • Hiring help can free up time and energy for more important things.
  • Don’t let guilt or shame prevent you from seeking assistance.
  • Evaluate your situation honestly and make a decision that supports your well-being and priorities.
