  1. Hi Sandy–I am in the process of trying to recreate my blog and for awhile I was thinking about writing on balance–this morning when I read your blog post I thought to myself, “You can cross that one off your list. Why reinvent the wheel when Sandy is doing such an awesome job?” I have only been following your blog for a bit, but I LOVE it!! Your words offer encouragement and your spirit offers hope. I will pray that the next few weeks find you with some unexpected and God filled rest times. Looking forward to sharing 2013 with you!

    1. Hi Kim! Welcome to my blog. I’m so glad you are here.

And if you think you should write a blog on balance, by all means, GO FOR IT! The neat thing about writing/blogging is that we could take the exact same topic and say it two completely different ways. You will bring your personality, experience, past, knowledge, life, etc, into YOUR blog and I will bring all my junk into mine.

Thanks for your prayers. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

  2. I get stifled at #2 on spiritual on your list. It probably stems from my perfectionist tendancies, but I don’t want to do anything until I am sure it is within God’s will. Too many times, I wind up doing nothing. I think that is worse.

    1. Yes–perfectionism will do that (speaking from experience.) Though, doing nothing is not always a bad thing. I think sometimes people launch out and start running toward something that isn’t God, and they make a lot of giant mistakes. That’s not good either. When life gets really hectic and I’m wigging out, I sometimes sense God ask me, “Who put this on your plate? Me? or YOU?”

The longer I serve God the more I’m convinced that He will let me know beyond a shadow of a doubt if He wants me to do something, as long as I stay open to Him. There are so many examples in the Bible where God spoke clearly. People in the Bible didn’t seem to struggle with hearing Him at all.

Now, look what I’m writing an entire blog post here in response to your comment. 🙂

  3. Sandy,
I like when you write about things you struggle with and what you have done about them. I would like to see you do a vlog every once in a while. It would be nice to put a voice to your picture. 🙂 I also like to read about what someone does that encourages others. How one models love is good too.
From a goals standpoint I am also trying something different this year called 30 day challenges. I found this on a friends blog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxhynMlg6S4&fe… I hope to do several different things during the year such as drink 4 bottles of water a day for 30 days, write an encouraging note a day; drink green tea once a day(to develop a taste for it I hope); exercise 2x a day; take a picture a day; learn a new craft by working on it 30 min a day for 30 days; no candy for 30 days; and things like this. I started January with 4 – 6 bottles of water a day. I am going to try to make the challenges be done each month.

    1. What a cool concept, Mark! That’s right up my alley. I feel like those mini-goals work really well for me. *pondering how I can incorporate that into my life*

As far as a vlog, yeah, I thought about it. One problem is that my current computer doesn’t have a camera, so I need to record it on our other camera and upload it. I did that once with a video promo I did for a speaking engagement and it took me like 8 hours to do a 3 min video. I’m not exaggerating even a little bit. I need a tech person in a BIG way.
