  1. This is very helpful! I think I do this almost intuitively because I always go by budget first and then limit options from there too.
    It’s a good practice for life in general, which of course is your point. 🙂

    I agree completely. I have had similar experiences, in fact I wrote about this very subject last year. We are not alone, BTW, the end of my story has a great TED talk about the very subject with come very interesting formal data.

  3. Oh how I feel your pain. We’re remodeling a 100 year old house and when I finally convince myself to make a decision and I feel peace about it, the next day I’m told by a contractor why my first decision won’t work because the floors are too sloped or the frame is too large or SOMETHING because well, 100 years evidently makes a big difference in the home building world. Good advice!
