Q: Who is this book for?
It’s for women. (Sorry, men. You are welcome to read it, but it’s kinda girly.)
- Those who feel frazzled, over scheduled, and overwhelmed.
- Those ready to dig deeply into the Bible to discover what God says about priorities, time, and choices–and how all those affect our balance.
- Those who battle with the most common Barriers to Balance: perfectionism, comparison, people-pleasing, and busyness.
- Those who are ready to self-evaluate their mindsets, tendencies, and schedules to uncover the root causes of their balance issues.
- Those who know quick fix solutions and checklists offer only temporary relief.
- Those who feel so defeated, they’ve concluded balance is a myth.
Q: Who is Sandy and who made her an expert on balance?
Sandy has been studying and teaching balance for nearly two decades, writing on the Internet since 2008, and blogging about balance since 2012.
She daily balances marriage, family, work, and ministry (some days are more balanced than others) and also enjoys reading, cooking, and physical fitness. She has been wife to Jon for nearly 24 years, and is mother to four children (two of them adopted): one adult, one teen, one tween, and one who died at the age of nine months.
She’s really good at laundry. (That isn’t really relevant, but it is notable.)
In the midst of searching for solutions to her own balance problems, Sandy uncovered some key scriptural truths to help her rethink the very concept of balance and make choices that truly reflect her priorities. She loves laughing at her own balance blunders while teaching women these vital Biblical concepts, so they can live the well-balanced lives they so desperately seek.

A: Workbook. You’ll look up scriptures in your own Bible, fill-in-the-blanks, write out verses, reflect on your own situation, etc.

A: You will need a Bible, but you won’t need a journal. There is space in the book to write all your answers.

“I am a long time reader of Sandy’s blog so was super excited when I learned she was publishing a book. This is actually the first bible study I have ever done and I chose this one because I feel Sandy speaks directly to me as an overworked and under-balanced mom, wife, daughter, employee, friend, etc. The book is engaging, witty, encouraging, in-depth, therapeutic and rooted in God’s word. This is the kind of book that you’ll go back to over and over when you need a gentle reminder to slow down and find your balance. I HIGHLY recommend this!” JMV
“As a mom of 4 in today’s world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find balance in my life. Many things tug and pull me in different directions. School projects, activities, cooking, cleaning, being a wife, a daughter to aging parents, and keeping up with friendships, not to mention trying to find time to stay in shape AND have time to spend in the Word…these things rip and tear at my sanity and cause my time “margins” to disappear. I was desperate for some guidance on how to find balance and clarity on what is really important in life and how to STOP COMPARING myself to other women. And I found it here!
“Sandy laid out all these issues in her study, giving us a clear definition of what Balance is, what is preventing us from achieving it, and how to find it. Most importantly, she taught us TRUTH from God’s word. She is a solid teacher and a gifted writer. And using not just her extensive knowledge of God’s Word, but also using many of her own life experiences, Sandy is able to point you in the right direction…towards our Lord Jesus…and towards what is our highest priority: to love God and to love others.” Jennie Pryor
“Sandy Cooper’s study on balance was exactly what I was looking for. The study addresses key topics that many women struggle with such as perfectionism, comparison, people-pleasing and busyness. I was amazed to find that the Bible clearly addresses all of these modern-day issues, in addition to reminding us what our top priorities should be. Sandy is the real deal – many times using her own struggles as illustrations. I will refer back to this study again and again because it is so rich in content and relevant to my life.” Jaime Sloan
“This is a much needed study for busy wives, moms and women everywhere. This study provided useful examples and info on how we can stay balanced and the importance of leaning in on God daily to accomplish this. Again, I love how Sandy shares her life and stories so we see this is an attainable in our life too!” Susie Barnett
“I feel I gained much needed insight into the imbalance I carry in my life. I truly enjoyed all the personal stories Sandy shares as they help me get a better idea of what to look at in my own circumstances. The slower pace of this bible study was exactly what I needed to be able to digest each of the points. I think my favorite part of the book was Comparison. I know I frequently find myself wondering how this person seems to handle it all so well and look great while doing it. This section helped me better understand that we don’t need to worry about anyone other than how WE are managing.
I recommend this bible study for any individual or group who may feel anxiety, pressure from within or from the outside and/or depression because your life seems out of control. Thank you Sandy Cooper for this phenomenal Bible study. I look forward to the next one.” Velby
