  1. I agree – spandex IS so 90's!! Glad to hear that you convinced yourself that running was do-able! Has it helped you reach your weight goal? I recently increased my cardio workouts to include an extra 10 minutes. What really helped me was laying 250 bales of pine straw in the GA heat!! Yup, I dropped that irritating belly fat! Have a fantastically healthy weekend! God bless!

  2. Yay for the sprints! I am a bit jealous of the scenery though. I love running – and of course doing the treadmill dancing. I put on some music with a good beat and go!

I have been helping my sister in law get into running, and my best friend train for her first 5 k in Race for the Cure! I love to push them to new levels and see the shock on their faces that they did it. It hurts while doing it, but once it's done I always look back and say "I could have pushed myself harder!"

Interval training is one of the best cardio workouts you can do!

    P.S. I posted again!

  3. Great post – I'm a BIG believer in talking nicely to oneself. You grabbed me with the subject line and it even got better from there.
    Run, Sandy, Run.
I'm still pondering doing the Atlanta half-marathon in Oct. I'm not sold yet but I'm training. Run, Beverly, Run!

  4. OK…thatnks to you, the spandex shorts have gone back in to the drawer this morning. And I will go workout with cotton shorts on, even tho' they're shorter than the Spandex ones. And I'll say nice things to myself about that extra
2" of out-of-shape thighs the world will be treated to as a result! 🙂 I've already started to say all the other nice things to myself about caring for myself and moving more and so forth. I've set some pretty big goals for myself. Only my very big God can ensure that they're reached! 🙂

  6. My inner voice sometimes says, "it is ok to quit trying." OK, I need a new message.

"You have never been a quitter – why would you quit now. Get back out there and have fun. You really love exercise when you do it."

    Better?

  7. Perfect timing FFG! After last weeks sermon I chose to start running again. At one point not too long ago I was pretty awesome at it

I ran every morning this week. Monday was hard but this morning was a breeze. Will be adding distance progressively and am going to get back into local 5ks.

    Keep em comin'!

  8. I love to run…after the first 1/2 mile. Running on the beach barefoot is my favorite place. It doesn't seem hard at all. Fortunately I live close so I can go anytime. It has become my Sunday evening run.
