  3. Thanks for the inspiration! I also love knowing others are eating cereal for breakfast on occasion. Aren't those Ziploc bags the best?!

  5. You brought tears to my eyes with that little shout out!!! thanks. I actually have done the monthly menu several times, and since I am such a list maker, I LOVE IT. For some strange reason since I have been laid off I figure I have all day to do this now and it never gets done, so I stare at the fridge and make a last minute concoction. I WILL BEGIN AGAIN!! Thanks. Jennifer

  7. Hi Sandy…I so enjoyed this post! We were empty nesters until my Dad came to live with us. So now, I am back in the kitchen and planning meals!

I love your approach and am going to try to modify it for my crew!

    Bless you,
    Susan

  11. Thanks for taking the time to share such a thorough meal plan. My family has been meal planning for a few years, and about a year ago my husband started working on a meal planning website to help us. My favorite part of the site is that it automatically creates a categorized shopping list from your plan. You can also share your recipes and weekly plans with your friends. Please check it out and let us know what you think and if it helps the system you are already using. plantoeat.com

  13. I've come to realize that actually planning out my meals and grocery lists in advance make a HUGE difference!

Thanks for all of the handy-dandy advice! Excellent!

And thanks for the "case studies". It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has stopped by the fancy Target cafe.

    Blessings,
    Kate 🙂

  15. Man, I tried to leave a comment last night so that I wouldn't be considered a lurker anymore but it kept giving me an error!!

You are a joy and a blessing friend.

  17. I cracked up laughing about the target run and the rows of peeps. This is SO me when I'm running erands with my kids. Like in the grocery store yesterday… Suckers, they split a donut they saw in the bakery, followed by a shared package of 100 calories chip ahoy crackers. Talk about SUGAR overload.

I try to plan my meals out a week ahead of time, but I never thought about doing in a month ahead of time, so thanks for the tips! Great meal planning!

  21. Fantastic post, really inspiring! I love your tips! And I agree about the Education principle. It's important that our kids are educated why they can and can't certain foods on certain days, or why this type of food is better than the other one. It will really make things easier.
