Weekend Links {11}
It’s feast or famine with the house showings. Immediately following my statement “no house showings for almost two weeks” we had four showings in four days. Creating the Fake House is one thing. Maintaining the Fake House for four consecutive days takes me to level of OCD that is disturbing. For a period of time, I relegated the family to one bathroom. Selling a house is FUN!
The good news is, WE HAVE A CONTRACT ON THE HOUSE!
The bad news is, it’s contingent on the sale of THEIR house.
The good news is, THEY ALSO HAVE A CONTRACT ON THEIR HOUSE!
The bad news is, their contract is contingent on the sale of THE THIRD house.
So, basically, we are all waiting for this third house to sell.
Immediately following Four Days of Fake House, a foot of snow dumped on our city, and my kids have been home ever since. In one day, it became the complete opposite of Fake House.
I know you’re thinking, “But Sandy, Fake House is over. You have a contract! Live in your Real House!”
Except not.
We need to keep showing it, just in case Third House doesn’t sell.
So, that’s my week in a nutshell. And also why this first link resonates so much with me today:
The Uppers and Downers of Parenting (or coffee and wine), by Amber Dusik. This is an old post from Amber’s blog Illustrated with Crappy Pictures. I just came across it again and it still made me laugh. It’s short and sweet, with a few profane words thrown in. So, if profane words offend you, don’t click on this one.
Busy is a Sickness, by Scott Dannemiller via Huffington Post. I REALLY try not to answer with “BUSY!” when people ask how I am—unless I am unusually so (Hello, house-building/house selling!). But I’d like to banish this altogether from my vocabulary. This is article offers great perspective on the topic.
10 Things I Thought Were Caused by Bad Parenting…Before I Had Kids, by Annie Reneau. Like the author, I was an AWESOME mom before kids. Then, every last thing for which I judged other parents eventually manifested in my own children. Every. Last. Thing. Now, I just keep my mouth shut.
And finally, this: History of Duets with Jimmy Fallon and Kelly Clarkson. SO FUN! You’ll need to click over to the blog to watch if you are receiving this by email.
ConGraTuLaTiOnS!!! on the sale of your house! Albeit contingent… 😀 May that third house sell quickly, too!
Thanks, Alicia! PRAY!!!!
