Weekend Links {14}
When I started this blog in March 2008, Pinterest did not yet exist (it launched in 2010) and I had never heard of Twitter. I started a little blog called God Speaks Today from my kitchen table, while I was homebound with my newly adopted baby. It was a blog about hearing God’s voice in everyday life.
A few months later, I started a regular feature called “Fitness Friday,” because I also loved to write about health. That morphed briefly into it’s own blog called “The Amazing Adventures of Fitness Friday Girl.”
In 2012, I moved all those old posts to a new hosting format on a new blog with a new name. That’s the blog you are reading today, The Scoop on Balance.
I’ve got approximately 750 posts I’ve published over the years. Many of them were written before I knew what I was talking about. (Okay, I still don’t know what I’m talking about.) Some of them are just embarrassing. Some of them have images that I stole from the internet (I’m sorry, Internet. I didn’t know!). Others have internal links that no longer work. Some of them lost their formatting when they migrated from the old host to the new one. And none of them have “Pinable Images” because that wasn’t a thing yet.
So, I’ve been working on a little project. I’m going through each and every post, starting with the oldest. I’m updating them in every way: images, links, grammar and horrible jokes.
Since many of these posts have been buried in the archives, most of you have not seen them (except for my friend Ana…who has seen every single post since day one). Therefore, I’m taking my favorite ones and reprinting them on Thursdays. You’ll know it’s a reprint because I will have a little blurb at the end that says “Updated and reprinted from the archives.” And also, it will be Thursday.
The rest of them, I will be promoting on Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook throughout the week. If you follow me there, you will see them. I will also link to them here on Saturdays. Since it’s a painstaking process, there will only be a few each week.
On Tuesdays, I will try to post my new content.
This is the current plan. It should take me through the school year and beyond. But, of course, balance is a process and all that, so I will adjust this if it doesn’t work.
Thank you for following me all over the place and for continuing to read what I write.
